Amber Eyes ( Entwined Souls Trilogy 1) by Jolyn Palliata

Title: Amber Eyes ( Entwined Souls Trilogy 1)
Author: Jolyn Palliata
Published: April 4, 2013 by Time and Tide Publishing
E-book
Blurb from Goodreads:"Eyes are the window to the soul, in a time when souls are ancient."

After an accident, one she shouldn’t have walked away from, Lexi’s life finally begins. She meets Dez, a new student with the most beautiful eyes she’s ever seen. And since gazing into them, Lexi has had vivid waking dreams that pull her back through time, and into the warm embrace of a mysterious stranger—a stranger who becomes all too familiar. When offering an explanation for her detailed visions, Dez changes her world forever with two simple words: Soul mates.

For the first time in her life, Lexi feels safe and complete. But lingering in the shadows is the embodiment of evil, coveting the light within her. He’s a threat to Lexi’s very existence, and to a love that has transcended time.

Review: I have to admit I picked this book solely because of the mention of soul-mates  I'm such a geek when it comes to that. I can't turn down a soul-mate book. I'm really happy I picked up this book. It was amazing  Especially Dez... he was VERY amazing.
Okay so our heroine  Lexi, who basically became a shell of her former self after her best friend died. That is until Dez comes into her life and flips everything around. Lexi starts having vivid dreams of herself and a man that appears to be Dez. I liked Lexi as a heroine. I understood her decisions and I know I would probably make the same decision.  Also this girl had a sense of humor the part with Jason as cat? I was dying, couldn't laughing. That was definitely one of the best moments in the book.
Dez.. oh Dez. Okay so he was pretty close to perfect. Except that little part towards the end where I wanted his head on the stick. But it's okay he made up for that later. He was sweet and protective and I loved him and Lexi together. They were cute as a couple.
The romance in this book was cute... just cute. There weren't any steamy make-out scenes which I was kind of bummed about but there is good reason why those were avoided until the end. However, the book was still incredibly cute and sweet.
However, the best part of the novel was the plot. It was so different. With most soul-mate books you see a similar events. Not here everything was different and it was great!!! It was a breath of fresh air. I recommend this book to all you soul-mate lovers.
    I give this sweet novel

Arctic Winds( Alpine Woods Shifters,1) by Sondrae Bennett

Title: Arctic Winds( Alpine Woods Shifters,1)
Author: Sondrae Bennett
Published:January 17, 2011 by Lyrical Press
Number of Pages: 86

Blurb from Goodreads:Nothing will stop a wolf once he’s found his mate…not even her own doubts.

After her skulk abandoned her four years ago, Samantha knew she would never truly be wanted. When she accidentally stumbles into a wolf town and is asked by their premier to stay, she believes it’s the novelty of an arctic fox motivating him. She knows she’ll be on her own again once he tires of her.

Jason finds himself pulled to Samantha from the moment she faints in his arms. His wolf is calling to him, telling him he’s found their mate and the heat he feels for Samantha is impossible to resist. But his little fox is loaded down with emotional baggage and doesn’t believe she’s worthy of love. Can he overcome her fears? Or will pack jealousies and the local faxes convince her she doesn’t belong with him before he has a chance?

Review:  This was an incredibly sweet love story revolving around a sexy Alpha and a shy but stubborn fox. So I have to admit the whole mate things is my dirty indulgence and I love how the concept was carried out in this novella. It was a very short read but the reader wasn't left lacking and the story paced nicely though I do wish I could have gotten more of Samantha and Jason.

Speaking of Jason, where does a girl need to get to herself one of these? Okay so in a way he was your typical werewolf. You know bossy, stubborn, possessive, pick up your jaw from the floor sexy... whaat? However, he was also incredibly understanding ans sweet and I loved how the relationship between Samantha and him developed.
I loved Samantha as a heroine, but I wanted to strangle the girl at several points in the book. She was smart but she was so stubborn and determined on something that was so off... and I'm not big on spoilers so I'm not telling but this girl. Like really open your eyes and see the truth. Anyway the mini rant aside, this was an easy, short read that leaves you with that happy light and tingly feeling.

Vigilant by Angel Lawson

Title: Vigilant
Author: Angel Lawson
Published: April 23, 2012

Blurb from Goodreads:Ari Grant spends her days helping the troubled youth of Glory City, and her nights trying to feel something other than the cold numbness that has settled in her bones. For years, she satisfies this urge with trips to the tattoo parlor or late night clubbing, but everything changes when she becomes a victim of an armed robbery.

She manages to escape notice from the gunman, a former client, but only because she’s saved by Glory City’s own Vigilante. A hooded man who has impeccable timing when it comes to those in need.

It seems Ari isn’t the only one trying to save lost souls or looking for a life outside their job. She’s caught the attention of Nick Sanders, a handsome attorney at juvenile court. Solid and steady, he seems the perfect fit, but Ari has developed an obsession with Davis, the mysterious and sexy director of a local fight club that rehabilitates delinquent boys.

Each of these men fight for the less fortunate, but not everyone has altruistic motives. When Ari’s female clients begin to disappear, she can’t figure out who to trust. Soon enough it becomes obvious that while Ari watches over the kids of Glory City, someone else has taken to watching over her.

Review:  I would like to thank Angel Lawson for providing me with an ARC  review her novel in exchange for my honest review.
Being completely honest I went into this book not really knowing what to expect. I had a basic idea and this book sounded very intriguing but beyond a basic understanding of the main character i knew nothing about this book. However, I must say I immensely enjoyed the original plot of this book and the tough heroine.
Lets start with Ari. She was so different. She was a social worker which isn't a common profession in novels.  Ari was tough as nails. She didn't want to  depend on a guy for everything and she made her choices. She also dealt with the consequences that came with making a rash decision. Ari was a believable lead and I liked how she developed in the novel. Though I questioned her choices sometimes she was a smart heroine and I liked how she handles situation.
The plot was fast and  action filled. There were events that I expected but also there were twist and turns that I never saw coming. I was definitely on the edge of my seed while reading this book.I also liked the supporting characters especially Oliver. He was a great friend to Ari and I liked having him in the book.
Davis... Oh Man... I'm keeping my mouth shut about him... Okay, I'll tell you this he's hot. Very hot.
Definitely check out this book. It's an exciting and different read.

The Collector ( Dante Walker 1) by Victoria Scott

Title: The Collector ( Dante Walker 1)
Author: Victoria Scott
Published: March 25, 2013 by Entangled Teen
Number of Pages: 352

Blurb from Goodreads:He makes good girls...bad.

Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence have made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple: weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.

Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal-opportunity collector and doesn't want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:

Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within ten days.

Dante doesn't know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect, he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector…and uncover emotions deeply buried.

Review:   Hallelujah!!!!!!   We finally have a book written from a purely guy perspective and an entertaining, hilarious sexy perspective at that.Dante puts sexy mofo in.... well in sexy mofo. This guy is something else. So I'm starting my review with him, because let's face the reason you  are considering this book is because you  want to see if Dante is as bad as the blurb makes him out to be. Well, let me tell you he is so much more badass and so much better.
You know why I’m the best Collector? Because I know how to play the game. I play to win.”
Dante is hell's best... and hottest. He's the guy every person hates and every girl wants. He was also annoying as hell (lol) in the beginning of the book, I wanted to slap, kick, punch, beat up, murder, make-out with him for the better part of the book. He was bad and we're talking actually bad not just that you should stay away from me I'm bad for you kind of bad, we're talking this guy wants to drag your soul to hell kind of bad. I hated what he did to Charlie, he saw her as nothing of importance until he got to know her. Now that's were I actually fell in love with Dante and not just in love. Dante starts to see how amazing Charlie really is and becomes so protective of her and he falls in love with her. Nothing could compare to Dante realizing he would rather suffer the nine levels of hell that take something from Charlie. Well okay maybe his one liners were a lot more fun but he became such an amazing caring guy and once you get past all that douchebagginess, he was just a confused kid angry at the world.
Charlie. I loved her but there were times when I wanted to give her a good shake. She was sweet, caring, adorable but she was also to trusting and naive for her own good. She wanted to see the light in everyone which is a good thing but she didn't realize how things like that could hurt her. I think she needed to grow a backbone and really stand up, if she did that she would literally be the perfect heroine, Don't get me wrong Charlie was amazing but she's kind of heroine that you want to see stand up for herself and become a genuine badass (I'm hoping Dante will bring that out in her in the next book.)
The one liners in this book were to die for.
"In this trunk," she says with a serious face, "is God's gift to women."
                                   "Chocolate?"
                                   "No."
                                   "Midol?"
                                   "What? No."
                                    "Tampons?"
                                    "Stop guessing," she says.

See what I mean? Ugh why am I still talking everything about this book is amazing, stop reading and go and get it.
P.S. If I didn't know any better I would think that Daemon had a brother he wasn't telling us about.. I mean really these guys couldn't be more alike.
    I give this awesome-sauce book

Forgotten (Fate 1) by Sarah J. Pepper

Title: Forgotten ( Fate 1)
Author: Sarah J. Pepper
Published: October 5, 2012 by Neximus Publishing
Number of Pages: 396

Blurb from Goodreads:His perseverance unnerved me, scrutinizing my every move like a twisted guardian angel. Jace waited patiently for me to join him. Like he knew my defiance would crumble under his intense gaze, which was exactly why I avoided him…until twilight. He hijacked my dreams and proved to be a different kind of nightmare – unhinged, rebellious, and dangerously mouth-watering.
“Escape from reality, Gwyneth. Sometimes life can be too painful to live in, even for immortals,” Jace whispered in my dream. His heat, fervor, and unrelenting confidence resonated around me when he closed the gap between us. His lips hovered above mine, waiting for me to give into him.
***
Gwyneth’s chronicle began long before she witnessed her family being brutally murdered and lost her sight. Living as an orphan, her world is anything but black and white. She sees her vivid future that promises suffering and death. Cursed with these visions, Gwyneth pretends to be like everyone else, until a dangerously charismatic, young man walks into her life. From the moment Jace lays eyes on her, he refuses to believe Gwyneth is normal. He knows information about her past that only a psychopathic stalker could dig up. He reveals her dirty secrets. Unbeknownst details of Gwyneth’s former life unfurl.
Unsure of what to believe, Gwyneth searches for answers that lead to her inconceivable fate. However, the ancient truth she uncovers is more dangerous than any high school romance she’d bargained for. Gwyneth is drug into an inevitable battle brewing between immortal Gods and ageless Hunters – both of which have sworn to swear to kill her if deemed necessary.

Review: This book had potential to be amazing, but it fell somewhat flat on the carry out. Gwyneth a living s semi-normal life with her foster parents. She can only see outlines of gray, until she meets Jace. He is a bright white spot in a world of grey. Literally. It's just too bad her makes he nauseous, clammy, tired and well just sick. And he also makes her want to kill him as soon as he opens his mouth. And then there's that part of her that wants to kiss him like he's a missing part of her soul despite the other two.
I like how the author describes Gwenyth's vision. I could actually understand and see how she sees things so that part was great.
Jace was the best part of the whole novel. His attitude and comments made me want to slap him...right after I finished making out with him that is ( Whaaaaaaat?) However, I don't really understand what he is and that's my one big issue with this book, it left me so confused. Why is Jace working for Anelee if she basically killed the person he loved a few lifetimes ago and then stole something that was so important to her? And I know I'm talking in riddles but I don't want spoilers. Then, why does Analee need Deino? I mean she already tortured and killed her once. Also the whole Marco thing? I just didn't understand anything that was happening towards the end of the book. I actually checked to see if my kindle was missing parts because like a really major event would happen and then it would just be overlooked and not explained. Like towards the end, Analee should want to kill Gwyneth and yet that part was never addressed.  I don't know maybe my Kindle was spazzing because I swear this left me so confused about the whole deity and Fates world.

A Wolf's Duty ( Love Bites 1) by Jennifer T. Alli

Title: A Wolf's Duty ( Love Bites 1)
Author: Jennifer T. Alli
Published: December 13,2010
Number of Pages: 322

Blurb from Goodreads:It isn’t everyday that a werewolf finds their mate but after two hundred years of waiting Tobias is more than willing to overlook Alexandria’s humanity and bring her into a world she never knew existed.

Eager to escape her father’s brutal fists, Alex lets her instant connection to Tobias overcome her natural reserve but she quickly finds his world is no less dangerous than the one she left behind.

As secrets come to light revealing how extraordinarily different Alex truly is, will their love survive or will his duty and her differences keep them apart?

Excerpt:
“Not now,” she muttered to herself, eyes still trained on the wolf in case it began to move again. “Come on legs work for God’s sake! I need to get out of here before wolfie over there decides he’s hungry or the crazy psycho wakes up and tries to kill me again.”

Leaning against the wall and holding it for support, Alex managed to make it to her feet, closing her eyes as she sighed in relief. 'Life isn’t bad enough with Fred as a father, I have to make my university explode with foliage, be attacked by a raving lunatic and saved by a wolf. I’ve had enough excitement for a lifetime, I’m done, I’m getting out of here and then –'

Her line of thought was cut short as she opened her eyes to find the body of her saviour wolf transforming into something else.

Seconds passed before a man stood in place of the wolf and an inane thought floated through her mind in the face of his transformation. He’s wearing clothes; I would have thought he’d be naked. She blushed at the thought. The man smiled as he began to approach her and all thought fled as her eyes rolled back and her mind went blissfully blank, the stresses of the day apparently having taken their toll.

Review: I've been craving a werewolf book for a while. They always heave the perfect Alpha male lead. It's also interesting to see how each author goes about doing the whole inner wolf thing. Jennifer Alli did a pretty amazing job doing the man wolf interaction and that was probably my favorite part. Hearing Tobias talk to his wolf was hilarious. This guys wolf had a sense of humor, and I was always looking forward to the next time his wolf decided to come about.
Alexandra or Xandria as Tobias liked to call her was a sweet heroine. She was a little too naive for her own good but she wanted to help people and wanted Tobias to always be able to see reason. Her life was pretty miserable, in the beginning of the book I just wanted to reach out and give the girl a hug. She had to put up with being severely abused by Fred, her life at the university wasn't much better. She was actually pretty positive for a girl dealing with that much stress. She didn't mope around.
Tobias... I love this guy so much he gets his own paragraph. Heck, it's a good thing I didn't write the entire review about him. He was a werewolf and a king at that, and a king werewolf who waited 200 years for his mate. Basically that makes him protective cubed. But I liked that side of him. He wanted to kill anyone who harmed his mate. His love for her was adorable and I love that he always put her first. Also he was hot and his dialogue had me swooning. So yeah this guy won me over and he'll win you over too. Oh and his scenes with Xandria? To die for they were so hot!!!
The plot was a little slow, but think it allowed their relationship to develop better. There were a few things I didn't get like why did Xandria's mom stay with Fred? Especially if she had all that money? She could have easily left him and lived a happy life with Xandria. There were a few small plot holes but nothing terrible or really even annoying.
I give this steamy werewolf read

The Love Game by Emma Hart

Title: The Love Game
Author: Emma Hart
Published: March 29, 2013 by Emma Hart
Kindle Edition

Blurb from Goodreads:His challenge? Make her fall in love with him.
Her challenge? Play the player.
Until life changes the rules of the game.

Maddie Stevens hated Braden Carter on sight. Arrogant, egotistical, and the playboy of the University of California, Berkeley, he's everything her brother Pearce has taught her to despise. So why, when the girls challenge her to play the player, doesn't she say no? She doesn't know either.

Braden wanted fiery little Maddie the second he laid eyes on her - and he'd do anything to have her, hence why he's agreed to make her fall in love with him. After all, it's the only way he'll get what he wants. Sex.

But, as Braden discovers, there's more to the girl from Brooklyn than he ever imagined - and he can't help but care about the broken girl behind those pretty green eyes.

Maddie finds Braden isn't just a walking erection - he actually has feelings. He can be sweet, funny and his good looks don't exactly hurt. That means trouble - but when her brother Pearce turns up in Berkeley begging for her help, she realises Braden and Pearce aren't so alike anymore.

And maybe, just maybe, they're exactly what each other needs.

Review:  This was such a fun, cute, quirky read, I can't get over it. If you enjoyed "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" then this book is definitely for you.
“Maddie Stevens. Your mission, should you choose to accept it.” She grins and puts her hand out. “Is to play the player at his own game. Do you accept?”
I inhale deeply, every bit of my mind screaming at me to say no and run. Play the player. “Accepted.”
So Maddie accepts a mission to play the schools biggest player, it's just too bad for her he accepts the mission to get to make her fall in love with him and play her. So who's going to lose? And what are the stakes when you're playing with love?
So let's face it we know how this book will end before we even get into it, but it doesn't make it any less enjoyable. The characters  were great and lovable. Maddie was so easy to fall in love with. She got a little annoying at times with the whole " No brain I shouldn't be feeling this way, I don't love him, Nope, Nu-ah, not at all."
Braden. We all love a changed man-whore ( well at least in books  bot so much in real life) Braden was a typical guy in the beginning with the emotional depth  of  a dry rain puddle, but as time goes on he really changes and grows for the better.
One thing this book did a really good job with was portraying the  characters opinions change as time goes on. You can definitely tell the difference between 1st chapter Maddie and Braden and Last chapter. But by far my favorite part of the book was the dialogue. It was hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!
"Did you, you know, blow his whistle?”
“Did you suck his lollipop?”
“Well, did he bite your burger?”
“What, on earth, is that?” Kay tries and fails to get the words out,
“It's, licking, um, y'know.” Megan shakes her head and laughs.
“Okay, so was there bean flicking?”
“Did he play with the bait while he went fishing?”
      Great book go read it.
   I give this novel

The Mystic Wolves( Mystic Wolves 1) by Brenda Boring

Title: The Mystic Wolves ( Mystic Wolves 1)
Author: Belinda Boring
Published: January 19, 2012 by Moonstruck Media
Number of Pages: 280

Blurb from Goodreads:What would you do if a simple errand takes a deadly twist, turning you from cautious prey to dangerous predator?

Someone is trying to send a deadly message to Mason, arranging the deaths of those he loves and it puts the entire pack and Alpha on high alert. Darcy understands the primal instincts driving her beloved Mason's commands. With the help of those he sets as protectors, she learns about herself and the things she'll need to help support her Alpha and pack. When events turn dire however, one truth offers her strength - once given, oaths are unbreakable ... even if it means risking it all.**This is the full length novel version of Without Mercy, Cherished, and Blood Oath*

Review:I.HAVE.THE.BIGGEST.LOVE.HATE.RELATIONSHIP.WITH.THIS.BOOK. I'm serious I love it so so so so much but then it makes me want to rip my hair out at the same time.
Darcy, what to say about our heroine? She had good reasoning but she just lost it whenever Mason was around, which I understand a guy that hot has to draw attention but she goes from having the thinking capacity of a normal 20 something year old to a drunk, hormonal, love obsessed teenager. She was stubborn which was both good and bad. She didn't budge from her believes but her stubbornness got  her in trouble.
Mason... Someone call the fire department this guy is smokin'. Actually screw the fire department grab some marshmallows we're making s'mores. He was just ideal. I love him. I want him. Darcy better back her wolf ass off. He's the typical Alpha, bossy and possessive but he cares so much for Darcy and the things he does for Darcy were just so sweet and perfect and seriously where can I get me one of him I'll wait in line for days if I have to. He's a good leader to his pack and he understands Darcy and doesn't really pull the " me caveman, you my woman, why you not in the kitchen** aggressively scratches head**"
The relationship between the two was great and steamy even though they don't seal the deal but the make-put scenes were amazing, they had me swooning. But my one issue was that it overshadowed the plot. It's good when the romance drives the plot but it becomes a small issue when it's more important than the plot. But don't get me wrong there was still a pretty good even if it was somewhat predictable.
Now the part that pissed me off. The Ending!!!!! What?!?Why?!? Kill me I can't, I swear if Mason pulls something I will beat that lovely, possessive wolf ass of his!!!

I give my sexy Alpha Mason..whaaaat?

Review: Hey guys, so I've been on book break like the past few weeks. I know, I know it's terrible but to my defense I didn't have time to read and also I couldn't find a book that grabbed my attention. I would read the blurb and hate it or read the blurb and be like Mehhhhh and I really wanted to find a synopsis that blew me away. A few did but then you check the release date and its due to be out in like Ummmm I don't know year 3013!!!! Okay so I'm exaggerating a little bit, but still the release date was a long time away.
I saw this book and I really didn't know how I felt about it because the blurb doesn't really give that much away. Going into it I expected the typical average girl meets her soulmate they fall in love some bad guy tries to steal her and make her his, our hot and sweet hero saves the heroine. The End they live happily ever after. Well wasn't I shocked this book was so different.
Layla was a decent heroine. She moves cross country after the death of her mother and a mysterious message she leaves behind. She immediately meets Quin who she is drawn to ( and no they are not soulmates... or atleast not yet, or maybe I don't know this book does the whole soulmate thing differently so we don't know anything.)   Layla learns she is a witch and a powerful one at that and then this is where her story sort of drops off and her parent's story comes in.
If I really had to point out the love story in this book it would be between Layla's parents and not between Layla and Quin because theirs is more just starting but with her parents we get the whole journey which left me in tears. Rose's amd Aedens story was bittersweet and that's all I'm saying my lips are sealed.
Quin was cute and he was friedly but we really didn't get that much into his personality.  I really want my hopes about him and Layla to come true I would be so pissed if they aren't.
This book was magical and really different.
I give this novel
